FIRM OVERVIEW

Paul Calli and Chas Short devote their careers to criminal defense and have over forty-five years of combined experience defending individuals and companies against grand jury investigations and criminal prosecutions in federal and state courts throughout the United States.  Based in Miami, Florida, we are best known for our work in high-stakes federal cases – often at trial – including both complex white collar criminal matters and civil fraud and RICO cases.

We defend clients in investigations and prosecutions involving accusations of violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, securities violations, tax fraud, public corruption, environmental crimes, money laundering, government contract fraud, insurance fraud, Medicare fraud, off-label use of medical device or FDA approved regulated substances and criminal antitrust violations.  We have successfully protected federal and state elected officials, their staff, sitting judges, law firms, lawyers, federal, state and local law enforcement agents, former federal prosecutors, professional athletes, recording artists, news media organizations and journalists, financial institutions, financial services companies, regulated utilities, boards of directors, audit committees, and corporate executives.

We have tried over 150 jury trials to verdict and argued more than ten cases before federal and state courts of appeal, and won.
