ESPN Quotes Paul Calli’s Analysis of Jacksonville Jaguars, FanDuel, DraftKings Case

ESPN quotes Paul Calli in its recent coverage of the ex-Jacksonville Jaguars finance manager who pled guilty in federal court to stealing $22 million from the NFL franchise. The manager was a high-volume and high-stakes daily fantasy sports gambler on FanDuel and DraftKings.  In his analysis, Paul Calli slammed the franchise for its lack of internal checks. ESPN writes, for example:

Is FanDuel under any obligation to return the Jaguars’ stolen money?

Calli: I think it’s incredible hubris by the Jacksonville Jaguars to request FanDuel return the money. How on earth could they have not had the kind of rudimentary internal accounting checks and balances that a mom-and-pop store might have? To turn around and ask for that money back is mind-boggling.
